Sudak is located in Eastern Crimea and this area is very
different from everything you could see near by Yalta, Bahchisaray or Sevastopol.
There are hills and mountains, but different, there is forest but also different.
Sudak is very old town, founded by people from Genova in XV
century. For a long time it was an important point of trade way and it was
only a poing of the Great Silk-way to China.
Genova's people built a big fortres where Sudak started from. They called
it Surozh and you will certanly will hear this word when you'll take excursion
to the fortress. There are not many sights in Sudak, but the Genova's fortress
is a thing you must to see. There is old German church near the fortress
which uses as an exibition hall now. A small German community of Sudak uses
this church for their holidays.
A narrow and winding but extremely beautiful road
goes from Sudak to a small village called Novi Svet. There is a mountain
named Alchak which you'll see on the left side if you'll stay in front of
sea. Alchak
could be a nice walk-way at night, nice view to Meganom cape from the top
of this mountain.
